MenuMap

Where are you eating?

So “open late” means near you, not somewhere across the country.

Or a whole state

For venue operators

People are searching for what you cook.

MenuMap matches on dishes, prices, atmosphere and group size — not just cuisine and suburb. That means an accurate menu is worth actual customers, and an out-of-date one quietly costs you the searches you should be winning.

Describe the food, atmosphere, location, budget and group size you want. For example: a busy pub in St Kilda for six people with food under thirty-five dollars.

What you get

Free, and it stays free

Claiming your venue costs nothing. There is no paid placement to buy, so the only way to rank better is to actually match what someone asked for.

Your menu, your prices

Type your sections and dishes in, or fix the ones we read off your website. Mark what's vegan, what's a signature dish and what's off this week.

Photos of your room

Up to eight, straight off your phone. We strip the location and camera details out of them before they go anywhere near your page.

A number that reaches you

The phone number on your page and the website behind it, both correctable in a minute.

Hours that are right

Including the kitchen closing before the bar, and the days you're shut.

Your booking and ordering links

Send people to your own booking page and your own ordering system, rather than to whichever one we found.

Your own description

A few hundred characters about what the room is actually like — the one part of the page written by you rather than by us.

Say when you're closed

Mark the venue temporarily or permanently closed and the page says so, instead of sending people to a locked door.

A verified badge

Confirmed listings are marked, and the page says the day you last confirmed them — so a reader knows the details came from you and not from a scrape.

Claiming

How it works

Four steps, and the slow one is us calling you back.

  1. 1

    Find your venue

Type your business name into the box above and open its page. If it isn't listed yet, tell us and we'll add it.

  2. 2

    Submit a claim

Tell us who you are and your role. A work email on the venue's own domain speeds things up.

  3. 3

    Verify

Attach something with the venue's name and yours on it — a supplier invoice, a rates bill, or a photo of you behind the counter. A person reads it. We're confirming you work there, not running a credit check.

  4. 4

    Take control

Sign in whenever you like and correct your phone number, links, description, hours, or say you're closed.

Questions from operators

How much does it cost to claim a venue on MenuMap?

Nothing. Claiming is free and stays free. Once you are verified you can keep your phone number, website, booking and ordering links, description and opening hours accurate yourself, and mark the venue temporarily or permanently closed.

Can I pay to appear higher in MenuMap results?

No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored slot and no featured position to buy. The only thing that moves a venue up is matching what somebody asked for, which is why an accurate, current menu is worth more here than anywhere you can buy an ad.

Does claiming my venue improve my ranking?

Not by itself. Claiming gives you control of the listing; it does not add any ranking boost. What helps is the accuracy that usually follows — correct dishes and prices mean you match searches you would otherwise have been left out of.

How do you verify that I work at the venue?

You attach something that shows the venue is yours — a supplier invoice, a utility or rates bill, your food-business registration, or a photo of you behind the counter. Black out any numbers you would rather not send. A person looks at it, usually within a business day, and you hear back either way. We are confirming you work there, not running a credit check.

What happens after I'm approved?

You get an email with your sign-in details — your email address and a temporary password. The first thing you do is replace that password with one you choose, and from then on you look after the listing yourself: phone number, website, opening hours, the description, a booking or ordering link, and telling us if you have closed. Changes save straight away and go live with the next site update, usually a few days. If you ever lose the password, the sign-in page will email you a link instead.

What happens to the file I send you?

It goes into private storage that is not readable from the web, and it is only ever opened by the person reviewing your claim. It is never shown on your page, never shared, and never used for anything except deciding whether the claim is genuine.

My venue is not listed. Can you add it?

Yes — email venues@menumap.com.au with the venue name and address. MenuMap covers every state and territory, so anywhere in Australia is in scope.

Can I have my venue removed from MenuMap?

Yes. Email venues@menumap.com.au from the business and we will verify the request and action it. We would usually rather fix what is wrong than remove a listing, but it is the operator's call.
